I have not seen or owned a sliding puzzle in years and these little things were always a staple of my young childhood so it was a delightful surprise when one of these was in the box of goodies that Danny from over at Plastic Mayhem sent me.
This is one item i plan on leaving in it's package at lest for now but it will still be properly displayed with my Universal Monsters Collection.

Toy Rescue! Tech Deck Dudes #154 Katsuji
It must of been "kismet"(Fate or Destiny)because after yet another failed attempt to find S.L.U.G. Zombies at my local Toys R' Us(come on guys get these in finally please!)i decided to head over to the nearby Wal-Mart and check out there clearance isle for some "red and white" tagged markdowns and what do i find? A Tech Deck Dude!
Now why was this fate or destiny? Well for three things...#1) BubbaShelby had just done a post on these recently over at Toyriffic and i thought after seeing them it would be fun if possible to see if i could find these somewhere to buy(I think they are no longer producing them) #2) The theme of the figure is a Gatchaman(Battle of the Planets)knock-off which is one my all time favorite cartoons and #3)Victor over at Confessions of a Plastic Junkie just recently posted about a awesome set of Kubrick/Lego like Gatchaman figures which had me drooling.
So at Wal-Mart i find this Tech Deck Dude #154 named Katsuji for a mere $1 which i grabbed instantly once i saw it but i was dismayed to find it was missing it's skateboard(which is what all these figures come with)but for the price and for what it was i had to save it from the "Toy Abyss" and take it home with me and am really glad i did because am loving this little figure.
While it was missing it's skateboard it does have a base and clear plastic arm to hold Katsuji in the air like he was flying or hovering so it will still make a nice display piece on the toy shelf or desk. Now if anyone has a spare skateboard that works with these little dudes let me know because it would still be nice to have one to go with him.

A Taste Of Things To Come.....On The Cosmic Ark
Thanks once again to Danny over at Plastic Mayhem for all the awesomeness being shown in the picture below and look for blog posts on all of these goodies very soon!
Soda Sundays?
Ok not really but i could not resist taking a snap shot of my purple Halo Brute and this bottle of Sprecher Gorilla Grape gourmet soda me and the wife picked up on a Sunday shopping trip.
I love the art of the "Grape Ape" on the bottle and the purple mini figure is a excellent fit with it (Halo Brutes are very "ape-like" and for all i know might like to drink soda).

Mega Bloks Power Rangers Samurai Blue Ranger
Another Mega Bloks Power Ranger and this time he is Blue with much to my dismay black paint marks on his helmet and body which is something that must of happen in the process of making this blind bagged figure.
Beyond the marks on it's body the Blue Ranger is good like the Pink one i showed in a recent post and features the same building block for displaying the mini figure along with a removable helmet and instead of a sword we get a crossbow this time out.
Again these Power Ranger Samurai Mega Bloks figures are very close to Lego Mini Figures vs the normal mini figures we have seen from this company before(Halo and Marvel).

League Of Extraordinary Bloggers:Things That Make You Go "Whoah!"
This weeks LOEB subject is "Things that make you go...Whoah!" or to be more precise "What media announcement had you throwing fist pumps and roundhouse kicks in the air? And did the result live up to your dreams?".
Well to be honest there are not too many things that get me pumped up in the media but there are two this year that have....The Avengers and G.I. Joe Retaliation movies which has me totally jacked up with excitement for there impending releases. But i can not give you my answers on these as i have not seen them yet.
But i can tell you of one other movie that did get me excited that was released not that long ago....Tron Legacy.
Why did this movie get me excited the way it did? Because having grown up in the time when the original Tron movie was released and being a long time fan of it i thought often there should be some sequel to it due to the way that computerized special effects have advanced over the years and it could be a really amazing deal.
So when it was announced that Disney was indeed going to do Tron Legacy i was really pumped and i thought at last we are going to see the return of Tron! And once i saw it i thought it was really great and it did live up to my dreams by not only retaining the feel the original but also offering some new aspects to the "World Inside The Computer".
