Realm Of The Underworld Hercules And Acromancer

Late this past year my wife decided to treat me to something special because of all my hard work i did after she had broken her ankle and was off from work and school for a period of time.

That something special turned into a late Christmas present due to the fact it was a "Pre-Order" from the good folks at zoloworld and just arrived in the mail.....

Realm of the Underworld 5 3/4 scale action figures! Hercules: Son of Zeus and Acromancer(Underworld Edition) are fully poseable fantasy figures that included bone bashing accessories and are recommended for ages adult and older.

These are totally "throwback" action figures to a simpler time in the 1980s when Mattel's Masters of the Universe was king and others like Remco's Warlord of the Lost World and Warrior Beasts ran a top second.

I was a little worried about how these were going to turn out but all my worries have passed because these are just wonderfully solid toys that still retain a "Knock-Off" feel and look i just love.

The packing is very good but for the most part very basic as well with some nice black and white art of the current available figures in the line.

I would of like to have seen a more "collector friendly" packaging with actual removable plastic casing but then it would lose some of that "Knock-Off" charm and would of cost the makers of these more to produce and in the end more for us to buy.

Just take a look at these two figures out of there packages....

Hercules has a large golden sword and dagger plus a actual fur cloak which is a nice touch(and makes him look like he belongs on a 80s Metal album cover!)while Acromancer does well with a long battle axe, chest plate and a removable helmet....

These guys fit in so well with your other 80s figures like these you might almost swear they were also from that same time frame which to me is terrific and what the makers of them were going for.....

If you can not tell am really excited by these two figures and glad they have finally arrived to the Cosmic Ark and will be going on display along side my Warlord,He-Man and other figures like them.

These were well worth the price and wait and there is already a second series planned plus a Accessories Pack with extra weapons and limbs(The figures use a pegging system which will allow for body part swapping).

Check out zoloworld.com or underworldfigures.com if this little blog post sparks any interest in these plus my friend Kevin over at the Action Figure Adventures blog has a great stop-motion video review worth checking out as well.

  2. I got to see these up close last year at a local con. The guys that make these must be from my area. You're right on, these fit perfectly with the 80s style and have the looks to match.

  3. Even though this is the first I've heard of them, they do look pretty awesome! And you're definitely right about Zeus looking like he should be on an 80's album cover...maybe Manowar? lol.

    1. Not off topic at all and those are Remco Warrior Beasts that came out around the same time as Remco's Warlord of the Lost World figures in the 80s. They are pretty cool and some of my favorites. : )
