Nickelodeon TMNT FishFace

I really love the new Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures of Leo, Don, Raph and Mike.

These 4 figures got my 2012 "Modern Action Figures Of The Year" Award(Ok I really didn't do any sort of awards event or anything but if I did these would of gotten that award) but all of the other figures from this new line fell flat with me.

April, Splinter, Kraang and the Foot Soldiers really lack any excitement for me and while I find Metalhead interesting I have decided to pass on him which left me pondering over Shredder(which I still might pick-up at some point).

Then I saw the release of two new Mutant baddies, Dogpound and FishFace which at first I was very "blah" on until I watched some video reviews on both of them and I just became taken with Shredder's underwater thug.

Now I told myself that I was going to be focusing more on older toys from 70s, 80s (and even some from the 90s) but there is still room aboard the Cosmic Ark for a few new modern pieces(You know that I will be buying me some of the new G.I. Joe action figures once they hit the stores in my area).

Anyway while this figure lacks the articulation of the TMNTs it makes up for it in design and colors which to me are a win all around.

Everything flows really nicely with FishFace from the colors of his body to his robot legs and breathing tank. It's just neat that he needs those legs to stand/walk and makes me wonder why he has only arms and no legs?

Two weapons came in the package,a knife and a sword(I think a Trident would of been a better fit) both of which fit easily into each of this figure's hands.

The only thing I can think of that would of been nice to see on this one would of been a hinged jaw so you could display him like his was getting ready to take a bite out of someone.

Overall a fun action figure for anyone's collection even if your not a TMNT fan and just likes good solid toys. Not as awesome as the Turtle figures themselves but great in it's own right.

  1. Thanks for the review. I was going to pick him up....Now I will not. The lack of a hinged jaw does it for me.

  3. I can't wait 'til we actually see Fishface do something in the show. Right now he's still swimming around in Shredder's tank somewhere!

    1. I have not watched the show yet but it would be cool to see old Fishy in action on it.

  4. I'm wanting to pick him up, but every time I see him on the shelf, the paint application just looks horrible! I'm waiting to find one that looks decent.
